Legrand inaugurates one of its largest global manufacturing plants in Nashik

Nashik unit to manufacture busbar trunking systems, distribution boards, racks, Cablofil cable trays and industrial plugs and sockets
Group Legrand India on Tuesday inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Nashik, marking one of the Group’s largest factories globally and its biggest in India. Spread across more than 30,000 square metres, the plant underscores Legrand’s push to strengthen India’s role as a manufacturing and export hub within its global operations.

The Nashik unit will manufacture busbar trunking systems, distribution boards, racks, Cablofil cable trays and industrial plugs and sockets. A significant portion of production will be geared towards solutions for the rapidly expanding data centre segment, which is a key strategic focus for Legrand worldwide. The facility has been designed to cater to both domestic demand and international markets, with exports of select products already underway and plans to scale up shipments across additional product categories.

The expansion also builds on Legrand India’s growing data centre portfolio, supported by organic growth and recent acquisitions such as NetRack. This enables the Group to offer integrated solutions spanning power distribution and digital infrastructure.
Environmental commitments, quality control

Sustainability features prominently in the Nashik plant’s design and operations. The facility has received green building certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and is equipped with a 1 MW rooftop solar power system. It also follows zero liquid discharge norms, aligning with Legrand’s broader environmental commitments. The company said the plant will use advanced manufacturing technologies and stringent quality control processes to meet global standards.

Speaking at the inauguration, Tony Berland, CEO and Managing Director of Group Legrand India, said the facility represents a key milestone in the company’s India journey and reflects its focus on building long-term manufacturing capabilities in the country. He added that the plant is expected to create value for customers, employees and stakeholders in India and overseas.

Group Legrand India employs over 5,000 people across the country and operates seven manufacturing facilities and three R&D centres. The Group houses multiple brands, including IndoAsian, Numeric, Valrack, Adlec and NetRack and has an extensive distribution network across India.
