A delegation from the Telangana Farmers Commission on Tuesday visited Sahyadri Farms and Sam Farms in Nasik to study large-scale farm processing, Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) operations and sustainable agricultural practices.
The team led by Commission chairman M. Kodanda Reddy inspected the 120-acre Sahyadri Farms campus and the 20-acre Sam Farms unit, where all processing facilities for produce grown by member farmers are located. During the visit, commission members toured multiple processing units handling a wide range of crops, including pomegranate, lemon, guava, grapes, sweet potato, tomato, banana, mango, corn, French beans and pineapple.
Officials at both farms gave detailed demonstrations on processing, packing, labelling, quality control and export standards, explaining how the produce from these units is supplied not only across various Indian States but also to international markets.

Mr. Reddy emphasised that Telangana farmers, too, should organise into FPOs to market their produce collectively.
